
The four day long ‘The Malaysia FITEC Furniture Showcase (MFFS) 2009′ started Tuesday at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC).”This showcase will bring the opportunity to compare price and standard of our furniture and that of other countries,” said Firoz Ahmed, secretary of ministry of commerce while inaugurating the fair.
Both buyers and sellers could exchange technology for further collaboration through the showcase, he added. “A strong business relationship in the furniture industry is important for mutual benefit,” said Mohamad bin Samion, senior director of MARA.
He also announced that the International Furniture Conference and Expo 2010 (IFCX 2010) will be held in Dhaka next year.
The showcase would provide a unique mix of medium, high-end and luxury furniture and furnishing accessories, said FITEC chief executive officer (CEO), Puan Sarimah Mohamad Sabudin.
Furniture items of twenty Malaysian manufactures’ will be displayed in the showcase. The event will feature business matching sessions between Malaysian manufacturers and local businesses. A seminar on industry and consumer related topics including market review and concept lifestyle living followed by dinner and presentation will be held today.
